Major Project Idea

The topic of my project will be about Mustangs. I will take pictures of Mustangs around the school and include them in my infogram presentation. I will "capture" this moment when I take the pictures in the school parking lot.

Intro to Newspaper design

1. Albuquerque Journal
2.
3.  Albuquerque, New Mexico
4. "Chopper crashes at UNMH" It is my favorite because I want to know more about it. Weather it was an accident or something.
5. Five stories
6. All of the headlines are in bold and with some sort of image under it. The main story has the biggest image.
7. There is always one big image somewhere in the middle on the top half that contains the main story.

7 News Values

Human Interest.
This story creates human impact because more than 20 people died and its not often that a mudslide causes this. Maybe an earthquake or a tsunami, but most people will be surprised by a mudslide.

The most important topic is the story that involves marijuana. It is such a controversial topic most people will be interested in it. The stupidest topic would be the 666 in coffee foam. Its just a small quick story to fill up space and its not very interesting.

Best Magazine Cover 2013

Bloomberg Businessweek, February 6-12, 2012: "Let's Get It On"

They used rule of thirds on where they placed the sun behind the two planes. Also the blue and red paint on the planes create leading lines towards the sun in the background.  The "Let's Get It On" can easily be read because of the placement in front of the dark clouds. I think balance can also be integrated into this because the mass amount of clouds below and the two massive planes balance out in the image.

Magazine Essential Parts

1. Masthead is used for advertising the Magazine Company.
2. Date is used to obviously date the month and year of publication.
3. Main Image is the subject of the picture being used. The main area where the viewer looks at.
4. Model Credit gives credit to the person in the image. Not always on the front cover. Usually is inside the magazine.
5. Tells you what you can read inside the magazine. Like a teaser so you can buy the magazine.
6. Main Cover Line shows what the magazine will mostly be about.
7. Left Third is the beginning of the Magazines' name. A buyer will recognize the company and will most likely purchase the magazine.
8. Bar Code is used to actually purchase the magazine in stores.
9. Selling line is used to give the reader a quick description of what the magazine is there for or what the company has achieved.

Best and Worst ISO Photos

Best Photo
The setting we took this picture on was 1600.

                                                                         Worst Photo
The lighting and the ISO setting at 800 made this picture dark.
