1- I chose this photo because of the feelings behind this situation. Though it may have been 11 years ago since the very unfortunate incident, it still is strong enough to impact many people.
The sunlight and the way it reflects onto the memorial really pops out. Also the photographer purposely captured a big portion of the memorial to show how big it really is compared to the man mourning his lost son. I think this made the list because of the feelings it still carries and how many Americans are still affected by this.
2- I chose this second because I, too am a peaceful person. It sends a strong message of peace instead of violence. The photographer captured this at a very good angle. Its shows many soldiers lined up with weapons in their hands and it only shows one person armed with a flower. This person is obviously outnumbered and is only putting the flower onto the weapon of one of these soldiers. I think this made the list because it shows the good side of how peaceful people can be.
3- I chose this third photo because of the reality of how bad nature can be. It shows the damage this storm created both literally and internally because of the loss. The photographer took this one at an angle where both the mother and son are standing in what seems the middle of nowhere but in reality they're standing in what used to be their neighborhood. The damage and destruction really pop out as both people stand in the middle surrounded by the aftermath of this tornado. I think this photo made the list because people need to see how destructive storms can really be and how they can change people's life's for the worst.
