Camera Parts

Aperture - Hole or an opening through which light travels.
Shutter - Controls the duration of a photographic exposure.
Exposure - Amount of light allowed to fall into each area unit of a photographic medium.
Depth of Field - Distance between nearest and farthest objects in a scene.
F-Stop - Or full stops indicate the amount of light the a camera takes in.
Focal Length - Distance between the lens to the film.

  1. Mode Dial - Changes the cameras mode.
  2. Power switch - turns the camera off or on.
  3. Flash button - turns flash on or off.
  4. Main Dial - Changes focus points.
  5. Shutter Button - Used to capture a picture.
  6. Red eye reduction - used to minimize red eyes in images. Self timer lamp - will create a 10 second delay and take the picture.
  7. Grip - your hand is paced here to get a better grip on the camera.
  8. Mirror - reflects what the camera sees so you don't have to use the screen.
  9. Contacts- used to auto focus.
  10. Lens mount - this is where you would put the lens on the camera.
  11. Lens lock pin - used to lock the lens in place.
  12. Built in Flash- the flash the camera creates. AF assist beam- Sends a pulse of light for the camera to focus better.
  13. EF lens mount index- allows you to put on lens.
  14. EF S lens mount index - allows you to put on lens.
  15. Flash Sync contacts- portable flash
  16. Hot shoe- attach a flash unit.
  17. Focal plane mark- distance to the subject.
  18. Strap mount- attach strap
  19. Microphone- picks up vocal or sounds.
  20. Terminal Cover- Protect battery lugs.
  21. Lens release button- Releases the lens.
  22. Remote control terminal- allows control to be connected to camera.
  23. HDMI input- For HD quality, connect HDMI into this.
  24. Digital Terminal- For USB transferring 
  25. Body Cap- Covers the lens.
